You DON'T have to HIDE the SCREEN!

The kids are running through the house, and you're blogging in the Great Room.

Your mother is curious about blogs and you want to show her some.

You have company, and you're checking your email and a few other sites. While you're online, you decide to surf a little on a traffic exchange to earn a few credits, so your blog will be seen today.

What are the odds that your children are going to pass by while some nude or sexually provocative picture is splashed across the screen??
What is MOM going to think about all those choice words in those blog titles and post titles???
Will your friends be offended by the heterosexual and homosexual nudes, plus the profanity all over the blogosphere???

In some houses, these scenarios would never happen, or no one would care.

In other homes, they would be offended or traumatized.

BLOG VILLAGE can SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!

Bookmark this TopList, and you will have a variety of blogs to enjoy, all chosen to contain no pornographic images or titles containing profanity.

Thanks for letting me know, Shilo. The URL was so long that the code was messed up. I added a TinyURL extension to my FireFox and used that instead, and it worked just fine. I hope you will come join our BLOG VILLAGE. I think your blog would be great on the village.

Hi Ms. Butter,

Thanks for leaving your comment on my site. Time does indeed fly. Thank you for the invitation to join Blog Village, I think it's a great idea.

I'd like you to read more of my blog and reconsider whether I still meet the standards your trying to maintain. I wouldn't want any of my old posts to be offensive since the content is for grown ups although the images are all safe. Also, some of my links are NOT okay for kids.

Let me know what you think and good luck with new members.

Hi Maritza,
BLOG VILLAGE is a TopList of Family Friendly blogs, but that does not mean they are meant for children to be reading them.

What we are trying to do here is allow adults a place to surf through responsible blogs that they KNOW will not show any sexually explicit pictures or offensive language in large print. That way, they can surf through the VILLAGE without worrying that their children, who are in the same room, might see something on the monitor they should not be seeing. Also, there are plenty of adults, myself included, who prefer blogs that do not contain such images and vocabulary.

We are not trying to censor anyone's writing, although we have found that eliminating blogs with offensive pictures and titles does tend to automatically cut down on the amount of remaining profanity considerably.
